Obituary of John Cartwright
A resident of Blenheim, John Cartwright passed away peacefully at Blenheim Community Village on Thursday, May 21st, 2026 at the age of 92.
He was the son of the late Harry & Thelma (nee Strain) Cartwright.
John will lovingly be reunited with his wife, Marion (nee Stewart, 2018).
Dearly remembered by his son, Jon Cartwright.
Brother of June & Maxine.
John was a proud Mechanic for a majority of his life, working with Automobile Dealerships all over Chatham-Kent. He was a passionate and enthusiastic member for the Kent Region of the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada. John and Marion enjoyed their many travels including their trip across Canada in their 56 Thunderbird. In his younger years, he actively coached local hockey teams, and in retirement, John and his friend, Jim Dale, spent many hours collecting, repurposing furniture, and donating back to the United Way of Chatham-Kent. His love of classic cars, his family, friends and community will deeply be missed.
As per John's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 13th, 2026 at Evergreen Cemetery. All are welcome to attend.
In memory of John, donations may be made to the United Way.
