Obituary of George Depuydt

DEPUYDT: A lifelong resident of R.R.#2 Muirkirk, George D. Depuydt died at the Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at the age of 65. Born in Muirkirk, son of the late Leon and Catherine (MacDonald) Depuydt. Beloved husband of Marion (Thompson) Depuydt for 40 years. Loving father of Donald and Christine Depuydt of Frome and David and Ingrid Depuydt of Vienna. Proud grandfather of Kayleigh and Colin. Brother of Jean and the late Jim Gillard of Palmyra, Isabel and Mike Foster of Belmont, Patsy and Marvin Amendt of Saskatchewan, Jim and Mary Depuydt of Charing Cross. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. George was a member of the West Elgin Nature Club and was a proud supporter of the MNR Pheasant Reintroduction Program. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors and plows. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Tuesday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 from the Funeral Home. Interment Duart Cemetery. Donations made by cheque to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
