Obituary of Lenore Elgie

ELGIE: A resident of Chatham, Lenore Elgie passed away at Riverview Gardens, Chatham on Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the age of 76. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Claude and Eva (Stover) Tiffin. Beloved wife of the late Robert (Bob) Elgie (1994). Dear mother of Brian Elgie and his wife Michelle of Chatham, Brent Elgie and his wife Barb of Chatham, Barry Elgie and his wife Betti of Chatham, and Barbara Farquharson and her husband Duane of Chatham. Grandmother of Andrew, Amanda and Andrew, Tara and Tyler, Sarah, Brandon and Lauren, Derek and Kristen, Maron, Brittany, Jordan, and Riley. Great-grandmother of Skyler and Landden. Sister of Gordon and Kay Tiffin of Chatham and the late Bonnie Homeniuk, Dorothy Slaughter, Jean Goatbe, and Jim Tiffin. Lenore was a retired Rural Mail Carrier (R.R.#4) for Canada Post. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Tiffin of Chatham Baptist Church officiating. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations by cheque to the Alzheimer’s Society or charity of choice would be appreciated.
