Obituary of Ross Tedford

TEDFORD: A resident of Chatham, Ross Samuel Tedford died on Sunday, July 9, 2006, at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, at the age of 69. Born in Harwich Township to the late Robert and Florence (Rutledge) Tedford. Beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth "Beth" (Stephens) Tedford. Loving father of Jennifer Tedford of Chatham. Also survived by sister Alta Tedford. Predeceased by infant sister Mary Janet Tedford. Ross worked at Navistar for over 33 years before retiring. Past president of Kent County Junior Farmers and was awarded one of four Travel Scholarships for a 3 month visit to Great Britain. He later became the Provincial Director for the Kent County Junior Farmers as well as Farm and Safety Council Chairman and a Director for the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. Ross was involved in fast ball and slow pitch throughout his entire life as a player, coach, and umpire. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Tuesday. July 11, 2006 from 2:00-4:30 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service for Ross will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at the funeral home with the Rev. James E. Brown officiating. Interment to follow at the Bethel Cemetery. Memorial Donations made by cheque to the Lung Association or the Zion United Church are welcomed.
