Obituary of Kenneth H. Cowell

Cowell: Kenneth Harold, A resident of Ridgetown, passed away at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Friday August 4, 2006 at the age of 78 years. Born in Ridgetown, son of the late George and Haggar (Buller) Cowell. Beloved husband of the late Carroline A. (Dickson) Cowell (March 2006). Dear father of Sandy and Bob Towsley of Ridgetown, Wayne and Bonnie Cowell of Chatham, Carol and Dennis Sherman of Ridgetown, Kathy Cowell of Ridgetown, Stephen Cowell of Stratford and predeceased by his infant children Brian and Gordie. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Brother of Jack and Donna Cowell of Chatham, Phyllis and Lloyd Cummings of Petrolia. Ethel Haddock of Merlin, Ruth Maynard of Blenheim, Ernie and Carolyn Johnston of Windsor, Joe Johnston of Blenheim and the late Jean Haddock (1991). Ken was an avid hockey fan with a keen interest in the Chatham Jr. Maroons and the Dresden Jr. Kings. He enjoyed a round of golf and was an Associate Member of the Ridgetown Legion. The Cowell Family will receive family and friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Tuesday 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 9, 2006 with Rev. Wm. Vanderveeken officiating. Cremation with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown at a later date. Donations made by cheque to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation appreciated.
