GAZAREK, Maria. A resident of Chatham, Maria Gazarek died on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham at the age of 84. Born in Celovce, Slovakia, daughter of the late Paul and Katarina (Simko) Bendik. Beloved wife of the late Rudolf (Rudy) Gazarek (2001). Loving mother of Rudy and Cherie Gazarek of Bath, Jerry and Frances Gazarek of Belleville and Dianne and Bill Schwarz of Chatham. Grandmother of Rudy G. Gazarek of Chantilly, VA, Lisa and Peter Ostrow of Boston MA, Rachel and Daniel Whittal of Tecumseh, ON and Paul Schwarz of Chatham, ON. Great-grandmother of Rudy M. Gazarek, Alyssa Gazarek, Alina Ostrow, Laura Ostrow and Jennie Ostrow. Aunt of Ellen Gazarek, Gerry and Linda Gazarek and Dennis and Jan Gazarek, all of Ajax. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 445 McNaughton Ave., West, Chatham with Pastor Robert Byrans officiating.
