Obituary of Helen Carson

CARSON: Helen S. (Jones). A resident of Chatham and formerly of Rondeau Park, Helen (Jones) Carson passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at the age of 81. Born in Brantford, daughter of the late William and Margaret (Scott) Haggarty. Beloved wife of the late James A. Jones (1967) and the late Charles J. Carson (1992). Dear mother of Margaret Wilcox and her husband Larry of Chatham and the late Andy Jones (1979). Also survived by daughter-in-law Lynn Boylan and her husband Dennis of Blenheim. Grandmother of Caley Jones and his fiancée Jennifer of St. Louis, Ryan Jones and his wife Robin of Blenheim, Cheryl Armstrong and Fitzroy Barclay of Chatham, Christine Wilcox of Chatham, and Dawn Ann Ororo and her husband Nelson of Hamilton. Great-grandmother of Ashley and Patrick Moore, Amanda Armstrong, Stephanie Wilcox, Paige Wilcox, and Lilly Grace Jones. Sister of the late Oscar Haggarty. She will also be missed by her good friend Joe Gatfield of Windsor. Helen was a former owner/operator of the Bayview Market, Rondeau Park. She was a strong supporter of the Chatham Maroons and Minor Hockey Association, and founder of the Chatham Maroons Booster Club. Helen was inducted into the Wall of Fame at the Chatham Memorial Arena. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Joyce officiating. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations by cheque to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or Arthritis Society would be appreciated.
