Obituary of Muriel Betty Burns

BURNS: Muriel Betty, a resident of Ridgetown and formerly of Sarnia and Toronto, Muriel Burns passed away at Four Counties Hospital, Newbury on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at the age of 78. Born in Toronto, daughter of the late Ernest and Mabel (Westerby) Brookbanks. Beloved wife of John (Jack) Burns of Ridgetown. Dear mother of Judith Jean-Paul of Oshawa, John and his wife Michelle of Oakville, David and his wife Valerie of Ridgetown and Wendy Dick of West Lorne. Grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Survived by her sister in law Lorene Brookbanks of Etobicoke and Rose Brookbanks of Vancouver B.C. Predeceased by her brothers E.A. (Bus) Brookbanks and Lloyd Brookbanks and her sister Doris Brobst and her husband Ken. Muriel was the past president of W.M.S. at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Ridgetown, a member of the Ridgetown Senior Centre and a member of the I.O.D.E. Confederation Chapter. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 from 2:00 – 4:30 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Emmanuel Congregational Church, Erie St. N., Ridgetown, on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Barry Dixon officiating. Cremation to follow. Donations by cheque to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
