Obituary of Alice Johnston

JOHNSTON: Alice E. A. A resident of Blenheim and formerly of R.R.#2 Kent Bridge, Alice Johnston passed away at the Village, Blenheim on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at the age of 97. Born in Wingham, daughter of the late William and Grace (Jenkins) Nicholson. Beloved wife of the late Lyle W. Johnston (2004). Dear mother of Tom Johnston and his wife Doris of R.R.#2 Kent Bridge, and the late Richard Johnston (1993) and daughter-in-law Linda (1983). Mother-in-law of Joan Johnston of Toronto. Grandmother of Paul and Cheryl Johnston of R.R.#2 Kent Bridge, Doug and Sue Johnston of Peoria, Illinois, and Elizabeth of Toronto. Great-grandmother of Josh, Elyse, Nicholas, Thomas, and Philip. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one brother and three sisters. Alice was a member of Zion United Church and U.C.W., and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, December 29, 2006 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service will immediately follow at the Funeral Home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. James Brown of Zion United Church officiating. Cremation with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations by cheque to Zion United Church or charity of choice would be appreciated.
