Obituary of Francis Gosnell

GOSNELL: Francis E. A resident of R.R.#1 Muirkirk, and formerly of Iona Station, Francis (Frank) Gosnell passed away after a heroic battle with cancer at St. Thomas Elgin Hospital on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the age of 76. Born in Orford Township, son of the late Manson and Violet (Murphy) Gosnell. Beloved husband of Erlene (Clarkson) Gosnell for 53 years. Dear father of Heather Gosnell of St. Thomas, Allan Gosnell and his wife Joan of Highgate, and Frank Gosnell and his wife Cathy of Glencoe. Grandfather of Nikki and Chris Scott, Josh Gosnell, Geordie Gosnell, Paul Gosnell, and Michael Gosnell. Great-grandfather of Ethan Scott. Brother of Glenny and Carson Anderson of Muirkirk, and the late Annie Palmer, Addie Pelfrey, George Gosnell, and Walt Gosnell. Brother-in-law of Agnes Gosnell of Dutton, Ron and Betty Clarkson of Villa Nova, and Wanda and Dave Broughton of Simcoe. Son-in-law of the late Earl and Rosella Clarkson. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and predeceased by nephews Gary Palmer, Michael Gosnell, Michael Palmer, and Daniel Gosnell. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Mary Elford officiating. Interment in Gosnell Cemetery, Highgate. Donations by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
