Obituary of Kenneth Morrell

MORRELL: Kenneth Abner. Born March 10, 1913 near Hatfield Point, NB, Kenneth Morrell was the son of Abner Burpee and Harriett Mary (Morrell) Morrell. He worked as a production engineer for the P.D. Bates Company, the A.J. Sales Company, and K.S.R. Industrial. Ken was a good friend and neighbour to many. He served for a number of years on the Board of Management of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, with the Ridgetown Kiwanis Club, as President of the Ridgetown Golf and Country Club, and as a proud Hockey Dad and Manager with the Ridgetown Minor Hockey Association. A piece of Ken’s heart has always remained with family and friends around his beloved Belleisle Bay, Kings County, NB. He is survived by daughter Janet (Anne), Falmouth, Nova Scotia, and son Rae (Bernadette), granddaughter Alessia, grandson Ken of Chatham, Ontario, two sisters Gertrude Morrell, Hatfield Point, NB, and Blanche Neill (Lloyd) of Springfield, NB, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed by nephew Philip Morrell. Ken’s friends and neighbours at the Village will miss his cheery greetings and kindness. He was predeceased by his wife Alda (McDonald), sisters Hilda Neill and Frances Boyd, brothers Gilbert, Emery, Arthur, Cecil, and Weeden. Visitation at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Wednesday from 2:00-4:40 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
