FLEMING, Blanche Ruth: A resident of Chatham, and formerly of River Road, Raleigh Township, Blanche R. Fleming died at Riverview Gardens, Chatham on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the age of 95. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late George Arthur and Prudence Irene (Doan) Hind. Beloved wife of the late Garnet Shuttleworth (1942) and Andrew Fleming (1984). Loving mother of Joan and Jim Gregory of Chatham, Beverley and Tim O’Rourke of Chatham, Janet Forbes and Vic Kostenchuk of Winnipeg and Elizabeth Fleming of Chatham. Grandmother of Richard and Jean Gregory, David and Rebecca Gregory, Jim and Marisa Gregory, John and Giselle Gregory, Grant and Terry-Lee Gregory, Brian and Jacque O’Rourke, Matthew Forbes, Amanda Forbes, Meghan Murdoch and Bryan Depencier and Peter Murdoch. Survived by many great-grandchildren. Sister of Jean Tomlinson and Jack Hind, both of Chatham and predeceased by Art, Glenn, Lloyd, Doug and Bob Hind. Also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Hind of Chatham and several nieces and nephews. Blanche was a former member of Providence U.C.W., The Irwin Institute and was a 4H Leader. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007 from the Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Brooks of St. Andrew’s United Church officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations, made by cheque, to Outreach for Hunger or the Restoration of the A.M. Fleming Paintings (cheques payable to “Thames Art Gallery: Restoration Fund”) appreciated.
