DeBACKER, Eileen Doris: A resident of Chatham, died peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Chatham Retirement Resort on Friday, April 6, 2007 at the age of 73. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Norman DeBacker (1995). Born in Chatham, daughter of Helen McLean of Lindsay and the late Ted McLean (1995). Loving mother of Brian and Maureen DeBacker and Brenda McCord and her late husband Dennis McCord (2005) , all of Chatham. Grandmother of Kevin McCord and his friend Maria Orlotti, Shannon DeBacker and her partner Glen Priestley, Kristen and her husband Jeff Pillon, Kent McCord and his wife Erin and Kerry McCord and her fiancé Joel Leigh. Great-grandmother of Stephanie and Brandon. Sister of Bob and Marilyn McLean of Chatham and the late Teddy McLean. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her four legged friend “Jenny”. Eileen was a former co-owner of Highlander Cleaners for many years and a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. She enjoyed traveling and had seen many parts of the world. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday from 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 from the Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Nelles officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations, made by cheque, to the Cancer Society or the Chatham-Kent O.S.P.C.A. appreciated.
