PAYNE: Dorothy Irene. A resident of Wallaceburg and formerly of Chatham Township, Dorothy Payne passed away at Fairfield Park, Wallaceburg on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the age of 91. Born in Sedgewick, Alberta, daughter of the late Elizabeth Coote (1959) and the late Harry Toll (1962). Beloved wife for 62 years of the late John E. Payne (1994). Dear mother of Marion Forsyth of Chatham Township, John R. Payne of Ridgetown, and predeceased by son-in-law Donald Forsyth (1997). Grandmother to 2 grand-daughters, Carol (Mrs. John D. Henderson) of Wallaceburg, Susan (Mrs. Bill Mast) of Chatham Township, and 3 grandsons, Randy, Robert, and Korey Payne of Ridgetown. Also survived by several great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Lillian Gilbert (1989), Violet Mosey (2005), Ivy Milburn (2001), Florence McIntosh (1979), and Leonard Toll (1978). Dorothy came to Kent County as a child where the family lived in Raleigh Township. After their marriage, they farmed and moved to Chatham where Dorothy resided until she moved to Fairfield Park, Wallaceburg. Dorothy was a Registered Nursing Assistant and worked in Health Care for several years. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, April 14, 2007 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Funeral Service to immediately follow at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Sandra Fogarty officiating. Interment in Arnold Cemetery, Chatham Township. Donations to the charity of choice would be appreciated.
