Obituary of Marjorie Giddis

GIDDIS: Marjorie Jean, a resident of Morpeth, died on Monday, April 16, 2007, at the Ridgetown Village, at the age of 88. Born in Howard Township to the late Stephen and Maude (Hall) Smith. Beloved wife of the late Earl Giddis (1984). Dear sister of Max Smith of Morpeth. Predeceased by siblings James R. Smith, Madeliene Smith, and Wylie Smith. Also predeceased by sisters in law Alda Smith, Theresa Smith, and Pat Smith. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Marjorie taught elementary school for 30 years before retiring. She was also the Treasurer of The Morpeth Heritage Club. Marjorie was also co-author and editor of As the Story Is Told- a History of Morpeth. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East, Ridgetown, on Thursday, April 19, 2007 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 1:30 p.m.from the funeral home with Pastor Raymond Thompson officiating. Interment to follow at Morpeth Cemetery. Donations made by cheque to The Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or Morpeth Cemetery are welcomed.
