Obituary of Dorothy Sykes

SYKES: Dorothy. A resident of Blenheim and formerly of Raleigh Township, Dorothy Sykes passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the age of 99. Born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, daughter of the late Ernest and Millicent (Pepper) Abbott. Beloved wife of the late Arthur (Art) Sykes (1989). Dear mother of Ernest Sykes and his wife Ruth of R.R.#2 Merlin, and Evelyn Broadbent of R.R.#5 Merlin and her late husband Blake (2003). Grandmother of Susan and Dave Baker, Connie Sykes, Chuck and Lisa Sykes, and Jim and Marie Broadbent. Great-grandmother of William and Kerry Foster, Paul and Margaret Foster, Meredith and Glenn Grainger, George Foster and his fiancée Terry, Andrew Broadbent, Christine Broadbent, Rebecca Sykes, and Madeline Sykes. Great-great-grandmother of Richard, Dylan, Liam, and Grace Foster. Sister of Frances Harcourt of Alberta, Ruth Deschamps of Saskatchewan, and the late Margaret Swain, Myrtle, Murray, Eric, Fred, and Rodney Abbott. Mrs. Sykes was a member of Blenheim United Church. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home "Ford Chapel", 141 Park St., Blenheim on Monday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Wanda Burse officiating.
