Obituary of Donald Smith

SMITH: Donald Edward A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Howard Township, Donald Edward Smith died peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday August 4, 2007 at the age of 83. Born in Howard Township, son of the late A. Francis and Ada (Campbell) Smith. Beloved husband of the late Marguerite Louise (Lutz) Smith. (2005) Loving father of Cynthia Staddon, and dear grandfather of Samantha Staddon, both of Markham. Don retired from Union Gas in 1983. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving overseas with the R.C.A.F. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Thursday 10:00-11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Thursday August 9, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Tiffin of Chatham Baptist Church officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Donations, made by cheque to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation appreciated.
