Obituary of Eileen Ashby

Ashby; Eileen M. G. a resident of Chatham and formerly of Blenheim and Merlin passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the age of 82 years. Born in England daughter of the late Aubrey and Clara (Sherlock) Tribe. Beloved wife of the late Jack H. Ashby (1976). Dear mother of Kelvin and his wife Jackie of Blenheim. Loving grandmother of Rob and Cheryl Ashby of Blenheim and Chris Ashby of Chatham. Great grandmother of Kyra, Katie, Jessy and John Ashby. Sister of June Fleming, Hazel Fleming and Maurice Tribe all of England. Mrs. Ashby was the former owner of Ashby’s Drive Inn Restaurant in Blenheim and the Merlin Hardware Store. She was employed for many years with Janie’s Fashions in Chatham. The family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home “Ford Chapel”, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Sunday September 2, 2007 from 2:00 – 4:30 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bill Terris officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations made by cheque to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated.
