Obituary of Richard Charlton

CHARLTON: Richard W. (Dick). A resident of Chatham, Richard (Dick) Charlton passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Friday, September 14, 2007. Born in Chatham, son of the late Kenric and Marjorie (Hoskins) Charlton. Loving partner of Lisa Morris of Chatham and her children Amelia and George Morris. Dear father of Tim Charlton and his wife Sherie of Chatham. Grandfather of Greg and Brent Charlton. Brother of Kenric and Gloria Charlton of Tobermory, Allan and Carol Charlton of Chatham, Maureen and Jack Newman of Chatham, and the late Sharon Manax and her husband John of London. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dick began his career at International Harvester, Chatham where he went on to become President of CAW Local 127. Dick devoted his life to the Labour movement and he retired in 1997 as a CAW National Representative. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation with interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, at a later date.
