TUNKS: Shirley A resident of Chatham, Shirley Tunks died peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Monday October 8, 2007 at the age of 81. Born in Elgin County, daughter of the late Lorne & Louise (Brown) Taylor. Beloved wife of James (Jim) Tunks of Chatham. Cherished mother of Pamela & Andrew Cornell, and Paul Tunks, all of Chatham. Loving grandmother of Mackenzie & Taylor Cornell. Dear sister of Ron & Edna Taylor of Dorchester. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews Wayne Taylor of London, Clark Taylor of Belmont, Lorraine Cook of Belmont, and their families. Shirley and Jim were winter residents of Sanlan Ranch in Lakeland, Fla., for 24 years. She was an active member of the Ridgetown Golf and Curling Club, the Chatham Granite Club and the Thames Horizon Shuffleboard Club. She had been an active volunteer at First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Dr. Margaret Strang Auxiliary, Ladies Aid and assisted with the breakfast program. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Friday October 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Maroney of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
