SCOTT: Dorothy M. A resident of Charing Cross, Dorothy Scott passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the age of 92. Born in Harwich Township, daughter of the late Norman and Annie (McDougall) Smyth. Beloved wife of the late Clare Scott (1987). Dear mother of Shirley Kitzul of R.R.#9 Chatham, Lucy Anne Torrie of Rondeau Park and her late husband Jim, Bob Scott and Annette of Chatham, Mary Scott of Chatham, and Susan Scott of Charing Cross. Grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 12. Sister of Laverne Simmons of Peterborough, and the late Clarence Smyth, Margaret Clarke, Gladys McCart, Marie LeBlanc, and infant sister Grace Smyth. Sister-in-law of Vera Crow of Chatham. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Dorothy had been active for many years with the Charing Cross United Church Quilters. Dorothy and Clare owned and operated the Clare Scott General Store in Charing Cross for 50 years. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home "Ford Chapel", 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Charing Cross United Church on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Margaret Trapnell officiating. Interment in Pardoville-Union Cemetery. Donations by cheque to the Charing Cross United Church would be appreciated.
