Obituary of Krista Marie Dekker
Dekker: Krista Marie peacefully entered into the arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Friday October 26th 2007 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance surrounded by her loving family and friends at the age of 27. Krista courageously journeyed through Huntingtons disease and was a teacher to us all. She is survived by her loving father, Jack Dekker (Paincourt) and predeceased by her dear mother, Jenny Dekker (nee Zantingh) (1990). Forever missed by her loving and supportive sisters, Janice Dekker (Paincourt) and her fiancé Paul Seney (Leamington) and Angela Dekker (Paincourt). Krista is survived by her loving grandparents Clarence and Jane Dekker (Chatham). Predeceased by her Opa and Oma, Henri (2002) and Alice Zantingh (2003). Krista will also be dearly missed by her large extended family including, Aunts and Uncles; Jack and Stefke Zantingh (Dorchester), Steffie and Tony Bodini (Chatham), Bert and Corrine Zantingh (Sydney, BC), Hans and Brenda Zantingh (Smithers, BC), Johanna and Pat Desaulnier (Chatham), Mike and Deeny Zantingh (Smithers BC), Clarence and Laura Zantingh (Sarnia), Petra Zantingh and George VanKampen (Hamilton), Fred and Liz Zantingh (Chatham), Anita and Bert Vanderheide (Chatham), Amy and George Hart (Newmarket), Glenda and Fred Vriesema (Wyoming), Barb and Richard Vanderdeen (Strathroy), Gordon Dekker (Vineland), Ben and Sandy Dekker (Wyoming). Survived by many cousins in the Zantingh and Dekker families. Krista was loved by many supportive friends: Jane Conliffe (Wallaceburg), Andrew Silveira (Leamington), Janelle and Paul Sloetjes (Watford), Autumn Desormeaux-Malm (Chatham), Laura Tetrault (Seattle, WA), Bonnie Pitts (Oshawa) and countless others. Krista will be deeply missed by her constant companion, Ally. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Tuesday October 30, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4:30 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Kristas life will be held on Thursday November 1, 2007 at the Evangel Community Church, 76 Sandys St. Chatham at 11 a.m. Pastors Bob Barwick and Brad Wilson officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy memorial donations to honour Kristas life can be made to the Huntington Society of Canada or Crossroads of 100 Huntley Street. would be appreciated by the family.
