SPENCE: Robert L. A resident of R.R.#3 Kent Bridge, Robert L. Spence passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 5, 2007 in his 88th year. Born at home in Howard Township, son of the late William J. Spence and Gertrude (Johnston) Spence. Survived by his loving wife Janet (Reid) Spence and predeceased by his first wife June B. Spence (1996). Dear father of Reade Spence (Sherrie), and Kevin Spence (Joy) all of R.R.#3 Kent Bridge. Grandfather of Melanie Spence-Ariemma (Vince), Kristen Pegg (John), Jason Spence (Shawna), Paul Spence (Sara), Rebekah and Jenna Spence. Great-grandfather of Brayden and Emma Pegg. Step-father of Wayne and Kathy Reid, Russell and Maria Reid, Dennis and Jackie Reid, and Cathy and David Roelans, their children Laurie and Mike Laker, Heather, Matthew, Marcus, Joshua, and Andrew Reid. Brother of Clifford Spence (Norma). Predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law Marjorie Merritt (Bert), and Audrey Parney (John). Mr. Spence was a member of Howard Lodge #391 A.F. & A.M., and Order of the Eastern Star Mecca Chapter #58. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. An Eastern Star Service will be held on Thursday at 4:15 p.m. and a Masonic Lodge Service will be held on Thursday at 6:45 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Emmanuel Congregational Church, 68 Erie Street North, Ridgetown on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Barry Dixon and The Rev. Dr. Margaret Moriyama officiating. Interment in Botany Cemetery, Howard Township. Donations to Emmanuel Congregational Church (Building Fund), Canadian Cancer Society, or Bruce B. Foster Foundation would be appreciated.
