LUCIER (BURKE): Evalyn “Eve” Myrl (nee Grainger) Lost her valiant battle with cancer on November 8, 2007, at the age of 61, surrounded by her family at their home in Chatham. Eve was born in Chatham on February 16, 1946, daughter of Eva (Bishop) Grainger of Chatham, and the late Maurice Grainger (1993). Cherished wife of Louis Lucier. Eve and Lou shared a special love for each other that spanned many years. Some of their happiest times were spent together in their Florida home. Beloved mother of Jodi Burke (Ken Collard) of Sunshine Coast, B.C., and Stacey Burke (Christine) of Vancouver Island, B.C. Special step-mom of Lori-Anne Lucier (Dave Williams) of Chatham, and Ken Lucier of Kitchener. Treasured Grama and Meme of Dylan & Kesley Burke-Gray, Lachlan & Aiden Burke, Page, Emma-Tyme, & Tess Mayrand, Jeffrey & Sarah Williams. Little sister of Wayne & Dianne Grainger of London, Warren & Pat Grainger of Chatham, Diane & Ron Ambrose of Calgary. Sister-in-law of Annette & Reg Robertson of London, Hector & Vickie Lucier of Pain Court, and Nancy Vandergulik (Harold Dukeshire)of Lucan. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, lifelong friends and extended family. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ursula’s Catholic Church, 205 Tweedsmuir Avenue West, Chatham on Monday November 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Daniel Vere celebrant. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice appreciated.
