Obituary of Frederick Hicks

HICKS: Frederick "Fred" Patrick, a resident of Chatham, Fred Hicks died on Friday, November 9, 2007, at Meadowpark Nursing Home, at the age of 81. Born in Chatham, to the late William & Eva (Labombard) Hicks. Beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth "Bette" (LeBrun) Hicks of 55 years. Dear brother of Thelma L'Heureux of Sarnia, and sister in-law Ruth Hicks of St. Catherines. Predeceased by brothers Edward and Leo Hicks, sister in-law Olive Hicks, and brother in-law Morris L'Heureux. Fred is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of WWII, serving overseas and he became a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28, and the Royal Canadian Naval Association. Fred worked for many years at Labombard Auto Shop and was a member of the Active Lifestyles Centre. He was an active golfer for many years at Indian Creek Golf Course. Visitation for Fred will be held on Monday, November 12, 2007, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. with parish prayers at 2:30 p.m. and a Naval Association & Legion Service at 6:45 p.m. at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November, 13, 2007 at St. Ursula's Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Williams celebrant.Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery Memorial donations made to the Outreach for Hunger, The Canadian Lung Association or the charity of one's choice are welcomed.
