DAWSON: Marion E. A resident of Chatham and formerly of P.E.I., Marion Dawson died in Chatham, as the result of an accident, on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the age of 85. Born in P.E.I., daughter of the late Stanley and Madora “Dot” (Compton) Tanton. Loving mother of Carol and Clarence Williston of Chatham, Arnold and Judy Dawson of Mitchell’s Bay, Arthur and Barb Dawson of Chatham, Charlie and Hilarie Dawson of Kentucky, Bill and Linda Dawson of Chatham, Glenn and Deborah Dawson of Sarnia and the late Joyce Hakker (1988). Grandmother of several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Sister of Fred Tanton of England, Charles and Mona Tanton of P.E.I., Avis and George Jack of Saskatchewan and the late Eric Tanton. Marion is survived by her former daughter-in-law Marni Parker of Morpeth and son-in-law John Hakker of Chatham. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Cheryl Dawson. Missed by many nieces and nephews. Marion was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, the A.C.W. and the “Pie Ladies”. She retired as a teacher from McNaughton Avenue Public School and was a longtime volunteer with Meals on Wheels. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2007 from Holy Trinity Anglican Church with The Rev. Canon James Stevenson officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations to Holy Trinity Anglican Church Building Fund or Outreach for Hunger appreciated.
