Obituary of Harry Leslie Waite

WAITE: Les. A resident of Highgate, son of the late Harry and Edna Waite. Les Waite passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the age of 80. Loving husband of 52 years to Dona (nee Magee). Dear father to Gordon Waite of Highgate, Ray and Shelley Waite of Comber, John and Donna Waite of Highgate and Celia Campbell of Comber. Proud grandfather to Gary, Kim and Derrick, Karon, Courtney, Jason and Ashley, Kelly and Nathan, Jeff, Katie. Great-Grandfather to Kylie, Keagan, Morgan, Meagan and Ryekin. Survived by his brother Carmen Waite of Highgate. Predeceased by his brother Clifford, Harley, Earl, Bob, Don and J.C. Les was a former Assistant Fire Chief with over 30 years of service with the Highgate Fire Department. He was a Meritorious Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #335 Highgate. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Stephen Demitroff officiating. Cremation to follow with interment at Morpeth Cemetery at a late date. Memorial donations to the Church of the Redeemer, the Poppy Fund- R.C.L.
