Westendorp, John (Jan) a resident of R.R. #3, Chatham, peacefully went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loved ones at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Syndenham Campus on Saturday December 8, 2007 at the age of 78. Born in Ford City, Ontario son of the late Rein (Ray) and Aaltje (Ellen)(Sypersma) Westendorp. Beloved husband of the late Lenore (Powell) Westendorp (1980). Very loving Daddy of Sherry West, Windsor; Gloria Jean Westendorp & Terry, Kingsville; Melody Penman, Windsor; Holly Westendorp & Terry, London; Henry Westendorp, Mississauga; Jacqueline & Gasper Cilluffo, Belle River; RoseAnn Titus, London; Mary Ellen & Wayne Dunn, LaSalle; Jan Westendorp & Lucy, Maidstone; Joseph Westendorp, Chatham and the late John Calvin Westendorp (1989) and his wife Verna, Red Deer, Alberta and the late Shawn Westendorp (1960). Grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 3. Predeceased by 3 grandchildren. Loving brother of Annie Postma, Agassiz, British Columbia; Edward Westendorp & Lynne, Woodstock; Henry Westendorp & Willa, Harriston and the late Joseph (Joe)(1993) & his wife Margaret Westendorp(2004), and Donald (1993) & his wife Susan Westendorp(2005). Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Tuesday December 11, 2007 from 2:30-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted at the First Christian Reformed Church, 25 Tweedsmuir Ave., E, Chatham on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
