Obituary of Ruth Gander

GANDER, Ruth Catherine. A resident of Blenheim, Ruth Gander passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Born in Windsor, daughter of the late John Henry and Catherine (Hauser) Parks. Beloved wife of the late Jesse Gander (1981). Mother of Linda Gander of Chatham, Lyle Gander of Corunna and the late Sharon McKay (2003). Also surviving is a step-daughter Patricia and Wellington Freeman of Chatham, 7 grandchildren, including her special grandson Gary Lipa and several great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Julie Pulford, Florence Moore, Elizabeth Gander and Thelma Parks. Mrs. Gander was a volunteer for many years for the C.H.A.P. Program. She was an active member of the Rebecca Lodge, Blenheim Chapter and also a member of the Blenheim Seniors. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home “Ford Chapel”, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2008 from the Funeral Home with Rev. William Terris of Blenheim Baptist Church officiating. Interment of cremains at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim at a later date. Donations to Gideon Bibles or the C.H.A.P. program appreciated.
