Obituary of Marcella Burri

Burri: Marcella Anna-Lina (Mamma) a resident of Shrewsbury and formerly of Blenheim. Marcella Burri passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the age of 73. Born in Piacenza, Italy, daughter of the late Maria (Agosti) Ballerini. Beloved mother of Peter and wife Sherry Burri of Blenheim, Antonella Burri and husband Alfredo De Lellis of London, and Carole Burri of London. Cherished nonna of Michelle Guerra, Alaina and Mike Stone, Mitchell Burri, Jazmin Johnson and Madison Burri-Thompsett and great grandchildren Chassidy, Avia, Jade and Levi. Dear sister of Giancarlo Ballerini of Italy and the late Medardo and Luigi Ballerini. Also surviving is her husband Werner Burri of Switzerland. She lived for her grandchildren, her garden and her dogs. Marcella was a well-known resident of the community having owned and operated Mamma’s Restaurant and she was a very valued member of the Blenheim Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home “Ford Chapel”, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday, February 8, 2008 from 2:00-4:30 and 7:00-9:00p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Talbot Street East, Blenheim on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with Frank Robarts officiating. Interment Shrewsbury Cemetery. Donations to the Kingdom Hall Memorial Fund, Canadian Cancer Society or O.S.P.C.A. appreciated.
