Obituary of Helen Downey

DOWNEY: Helen. A resident of Ridgetown, Helen Downey passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the age of 84. Born in Romney Township, daughter of the late Clarence and Shirley (Chapman) Cook. Beloved wife of the late Francis Downey (1976). Dear sister of Irene Johnston of West Lorne, Pearl Cook and her friend Bill Pangborn of St. Thomas, Beverley Wright and her husband Allen of St. Thomas, and the late Gordon Cook (1957). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Helen will be fondly remembered by Luke Papenborg of Blenheim. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Monday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers at the Funeral Home on Monday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Ridgetown on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Howard Township.
