Simpson: Lydia R. A resident of Mitchell’s Bay, Lydia Simpson passed away Wednesday March 19, 2008 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Chatham Campus with her family by her side at the age of 59. Born in Hannover, Germany and immigrated with her family to Wallaceburg in 1960. Loving daughter of the late Willi Paetzmann and Margarete Schwarze. Beloved wife of the late David Simpson (April 20, 2000). Dear mother and mother-in-law of Susan and David of Limehouse, Greg and Jennifer; Bruce and Diane all of Toronto, Tony of Huntsville and Chris of Chatham. Loving Oma and sadly missed by Katie, Kayla and Parker. Kind sister and sister-in-law of the late Monika (2006) and Hans, Maurice and Marlene of Lethbridge AB. Brian and Jeannine; the late Kevin(2006) and Peggy all of Calgary. Fondly remembered by her cousins and nieces and nephews. Lydia was a long time member of Holy Family Church in Wallaceburg and a caring neighbour in the community of Mitchell’s Bay. At Lydia’s request there will be no public visitation period. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 180 Wellington St. W. Chatham to honour and celebrate Lydia’s life on Monday March 24, 2008 at 12 p.m. Father Dennis Whilhelm celebrant. All are invited to attend. The gift of music will be offered by the Grande Pointe Choir. Cremation to follow with interment at Owen Cemetery in Dover Township at a later date. Memorial donations to honour Lydia’s life can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the VON Palliative Care and would be appreciated by the family.
