Obituary of Charles Crow

CROW: Charles Basil, a resident of Chatham and formerly of Prairie Siding, Charles Basil Crow passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus, at the age of 87. Born in Raleigh Township, son of the late Orval & Anna (Larsh) Crow. Beloved husband of Alice (Bagnell) Crow. Dear father of Darlene & Don Barker of Chatham, Darryl & Joanne Crow of Chatham, Kim & Wally Nichol of Blenheim, and Colleen & Tim Ondrovcik of Chatham. Loving grandfather of Kris, Kelly, Yvonne, Shane, Sarah, and Ashley. Great grandfather of Jeff, Katie, Taylor, and Geneviéve. Brother of Leonard Crow, Alice Parker, Patricia Dolsen, Ann Quinn, Sarah Morris, Lucy Myers, Marie Barnier, and Pauline Elgie.He is also survived by his sister in-law Lorraine Barnier along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers William, Joseph, Robert, James, and Edward, and one great grandson Anthony. Charles was a member of the Branch 28 Legion and served with the Canadian Army during WWII, seeing action overseas from 1942 to 1946.He was also a member of St. Agnes Church. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459, St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Friday, April 4, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. with parish prayers at 3:00 p.m. A Legion Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m., with Fr. Francis Thekkumkattil Celebrant. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, RR# 2 Tilbury. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, St. Agnes Church, or the Blenheim Harwich Horticulture Society, are welcomed.
