Obituary of Jon M. Ford

FORD: Jon M. A resident of Blenheim, Jon M. Ford passed away at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital, Windsor on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the age of 70. Born in Chatham, son of the late Jack and Helen (Knight) Ford. Jon will be dearly missed by his beloved cat Buffy. Also survived by his cousins, Julia and Dr. Richard Roberts of Florida, and Frances and Col. William Bawden of Ottawa. Predeceased by his aunt Jean and uncle Ralph Fisher. Jon will be missed by special friends Linda and Doug Goldsmith of Chatham, Mike Sullivan and Brenda of Blenheim, and his loyal staff who worked tirelessly for him throughout his many years in business. Jon was a Funeral Director and 4th generation owner/operator of J.L. Ford Funeral Home Inc., with a proud history of 142 years of service to the Town of Blenheim and surrounding areas. A Family Service was held at the Funeral Home on Monday, April 14, 2008 with Rev. Alvin Armstrong officiating. The pallbearers were Craig Williston, Terry Thomson, Dan Peltier, Skip Adair, Brent Paine, and Len Braithwaite. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. In Jon’s honour, donations to the O.S.P.C.A. Chatham-Kent, Salvation Army, or charity of choice would be appreciated.
