JOHNSTON: Agnes May (Hunter) A resident of Ridgetown, Agnes May Johnston died at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, Chatham, on Friday, April, 18, 2008 at the age of 94. Born in Harwich Township, daughter of the late Harry & Ruby (Young) Hunter. Beloved wife of 69 years of the late Clayt Johnston (2005). Loving Mother of Barbara and Harry Hansen of Ridgetown, Bill and Margaret Johnston of R.R.#1 Morpeth, and Bob and Carole Johnston of Ridgetown. Grandmother of Valerie and Hal Shaw of Oakville, and David and Cindy Hansen, Erin and Jeremy Welch, Evan and Denise Johnston, Lennie and Tracy Johnston, Shane Johnston and Derek and Kelly Johnston, all of Ridgetown. Great grandmother of Ryan and Brady Hansen, Steven and Kelly Shaw, Marie and Lindsay Welch, Shelby and Cole Johnston, and Isaac and Ella Johnston. Sister of Leota and Keith Lenover of Chatham and the late Etta Young, and Harry Hunter. She was an honourary member of the I.O.D.E. Confederation Chapter, a member of U.C.W. Erie Street United, an active partner in both Clayt Johnston Motors Ltd. & C.W. Johnston Bus Rental Ltd. Agnes was a former member of the Ridgetown Golf and Curling Club. She was a former county stenographer for the County of Kent, member of the Ridgetown Seniors Centre, and an active bridge player. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main St. E., Ridgetown, on Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 2:00-4:30 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. from the Funeral Home with Rev. Judith Fayter officiating. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Agnes to the Canadian Cancer Society or the M.S. Society are welcomed.
