MacKENZIE: Douglas Joseph A resident of Chatham, Douglas J. MacKenzie, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Riverview Gardens, at the age of 79. Born in Nova Scotia. Beloved husband of the late Alice Georgina MacKenzie (June 2007). Dear father of Cathy & Doug Wilson of Cambridge, Doug J. MacKenzie of Raleigh, Randy & Deb MacKenzie of Chatham, and the late infant daughter Kelly (1966). Grandfather of Faroth MacKenzie, Rachel Wilson, Cory Wilson, Mathew MacKenzie, and Nick MacKenzie. Great grandfather of Leah. Doug served two terms as a paratrooper with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry in the Korean War, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 628. He retired after 37 years from Ontario Steel. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., on Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Legion Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev John Giurin of St. James Presbyterian Church officiating.
