SAUNDERS: Alice May (nee Dye), a resident of Chatham, Alice Saunders died on Monday, May 5, 2008, at Riverview Gardens, in her 93rd year. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Arthur James Dye & Martha Louisa Goodbody. Loving wife of the late Frank Saunders (1982) Mother of Carol & Ross Pollard of Merlin, Shirley & Wallie Branston of Toronto, Gary & Susan Saunders of Wallaceburg, Eric & Maureen Saunders of Chatham, and the late Ronald Saunders. Grandmother of Colleen & John Kuizenga, Heather Becker, Joseph & Aileene Pollard, Andrea Branston, Kirsten & Raffaele Trentadue, Shonna Saunders & Thomas Heersma, Steven Saunders, Michela & Simon Silvestre, Nicole Pinsonneault, and Todd Saunders. Great grandmother of Robert, Christopher, and Andrew Kuizenga, Kyle Becker, Jacob & Charlene Pollard, Joshua and Gabriella Trentadue, Taran and Kinsey Heersma, Annika Silvestre, and Caleb Pinsonneault. Sister in-law of Marie Dye of Brockville, Iona Saunders of Wallaceburg, and Lucy Saunders of Windsor. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sisters, Margaret (Peggy) Fox and Ada Goldsmith, and four brothers Arthur, William, Joseph, and Robert Dye. Alice was a member of the Salvation Army for many years, she was a member of the White Cane Club and the C.N.I.B. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham, on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A funeral service, from the funeral home will take place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gordon Reynolds of Gregory Drive Alliance officiating and Major Scott Rideout of the Salvation Army assisting. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Alice to the C.N.I.B. or the Canadian Diabetes Association- Chatham Kent are welcomed.
