Obituary of Lawrence Malloy

Malloy: Dr. Lawrence (Lou). A resident of R.R. # 1 Morpeth, Dr. Lawrence (Lou) Malloy died at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus on Monday May 12, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Born in Kingsville, son of the late Jock and Mary Ellen (O’Brien) Malloy. He is survived by a cousin Nancy Newall of Toronto. Dr. Malloy served Ridgetown and area as a family physician for 50 years retiring from his practice in 2002. Following his retirement he worked part time as a surgical assistant at The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Dr. Malloy was a member of the Ontario Medical Association. He was a graduate of Queen’s University Medical College and Interned at Hamilton General Hospital. He served his country during WW II in the Royal Canadian Air Force as an air gunner earning the rank of sergeant. Dr. Malloy was an avid golfer and curler and was a member of the Ridgetown Golf and Curling Club. He was also a member of the Ridgetown Canadian Legion Branch 243. Wm. Vanderveeken and Fr. Martin Johnston officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
