Obituary of Antonia Barko

BARKO: Antonia. A resident of Blenheim, Antonia Barko passed away at Meadowpark Residence, Chatham on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the age of 100. Born in Lednica, Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Joseph and Verona (Hlohovski) Mikula. Beloved wife of the late Stefan Barko (1973). Dear step-mother of Mary Maclean and her husband David of Trenton, Nova Scotia, and the late Josephine, Paul, James, Anna, Stephanie, and John (Thea Barko of Downsview). Also survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Sister of Eva, Frank, Karol, and Andrew. Mrs. Barko immigrated to Canada on April 14, 1950. She farmed on Pook Road in Harwich Township, and moved into Blenheim in 1963. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Blenheim and the Catholic Women's League. She was also an avid quilter. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home "Ford Chapel", 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 95 Marlborough St. N., Blenheim on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev.
