James: Reginald A resident of Chatham Reginald James passed away at the Copper Terrace Nursing Home on Wednesday July 9, 2008 at the age of 93. Born in St. Catherines, son of the late Arthur and Amy (Buckell) James. Predeceased by his “wonderful” wife Margaret (Smith) (2000). Dear father of Ron James and his wife Connie of Chatham, Barbara Slater and her husband David of Sault Ste. Marie. Grandfather of Paul James and his wife Tammy of Blenheim, Laura Slater and her partner Jon Ward of Ashton. Great-grandfather of Spencer and Hannah James. Survived by his brother George and his wife Doris of Ingleside and sister-in-laws Marjorie James and Gwen Farrants of Chatham. Predeceased by sisters Kay Sands and Margery Black, and brothers Fred, Howard and Roy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. James was a member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church where he sang in the choir for many years. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving in Africa, Italy, France and Holland and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #28. Before his retirement he worked at the former Ontario Steel Corporation. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair St. on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday July 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. Rev. Deacon Elaine Wilcox officiating. Interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
