Obituary of John A. Campbell

John Alexander Campbell, 86, of Clermont, Florida passed away on July 16, 2008 at the home of his daughter, Sharon Billedeau of Winter Garden, Florida. He was born in Empress, Alberta, son of Donald James McKenzie and Winnifred Genevieve Campbell (nee Geiger). Predeceased by his first wife Norma Ailene Campbell (nee Pfaff) in 1997 and his son-in-law Raymond Billedeau in 2004. Survived by his wife Ruth Campbell (nee Mathews) of Lafayette, Indiana, his sister Margarite Winnifred Kosub of Carlton Place ON, his brother Gordon Campbell of Waterloo ON, his children Catherine and Ronald Budd of Muirkirk ON, John Jr. and Diane Campbell of Waterloo ON, Sharon Billedeau of Winter Garden, FL, and James and Valerie Campbell of Clermont, FL. He will be sadly missed by his 14 grandchildren, Cheryl, Jonathan, Michelle, MaryLynn, Melissa, Natalie, John III, Rachel, Genevieve, Adrian, Gabriel, James, Christopher, and Shawn along with his 23 great grandchildren, who all came to him for his loving smile, his listening ear and his words of wisdom. John was a Canadian Veteran of World War II, an Auto Mechanic and a Teacher with hands that could fix, repair, put together or make anything, and a mind that could solve all puzzles. He was always willing to help anyone who needed him. John loved the Lord and started his Christian walk at the Pentecostal Church in Ridgetown in the 1940's , a walk he continued throughout his life, serving as a teacher, youth leader and spiritual advisor. He is now at peace in the streets of glory. He will be remembered by all whose lives he touched. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, Ridgetown (519-674-3141) on Wednesday, July 23 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held immediately after at 2:00 p.m. Interment Duart Cemetery.
