Chudy: Walter A resident of Blenheim and formerly of London passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the age of 82. Born in Winnipeg son of the late John W. and Pauline Chudy. Beloved husband of Beryl (D’Clute) Chudy and the late Eileen (Matthews) Chudy (1986). Dear father of Gregory and Carol Chudy of Corunna, Allyn and Peter Whitmore of Toronto, Janice and Ralph Mendall of California, Suzanne and Michael McHugh of Toronto. Also surviving are four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Sally and 5 brothers Andrew, Fred, Arnold, Michael and Joseph. Walter was a veteran of the Canadian Army having served overseas during WWII. He also served as a Paratrooper in Korea, Cypress, and Egypt. He was a member of the Canadian Legion for the past 23 years and presently is a member of the Blenheim Royal Canadian Legion Branch 185. Friends were received at the McKinlay Funeral Home ‘Ford Chapel’, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Sunday, July 27, 2008 in the afternoon and evening. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Legion Padre Bill Terris officiating. Cremation with interment to follow in Ouvry Christ Church Cemetery. Legion Service was held at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
