Obituary of Doug Newcombe

NEWCOMBE: John Douglas. A resident of Kent Bridge, Doug Newcombe died on Thursday, August 14, 2008, at the London Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 61. Born in Chatham to the late Jack & Jean Newcombe. Beloved husband of Nancy (Mills) Newcombe. Loving father of Renée & Bob Fitzgerald of Tupperville, Sheila & Steve Milne of London, and Mark & Jen Newcombe of London. Doug will be missed by his three grandchildren Audrey and Brady Milne and Karmyn Fitzgerald. He is survived by his sisters Ruth & Duncan Campbell of Chatham, and Carol & Gerald Galbraith of Thamesville. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Doug was a former active member, Elder, and Sunday School Superintendant at the Howard Road Botany United Church. He was on the Board of Directors of Howard Mutual and enjoyed a life of farming. Doug’s family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Sunday, August 17, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A private family service and cremation will take place.
