Obituary of Roy Pepper

Pepper: Roy Kenneth. A resident of Raleigh Township, Roy passed away from a brief illness on October 3, 2008 at the age of 76. Son of the late Andrew Pepper (1973) and Virginia Pepper (nee Labadie) (1990). Survived by his wife Lorna Pepper. Deeply missed by his daughter Lee Reaume and her husband Ron; stepdaughters Lee Bolton and Colleen Forbes; and step grandchildren Jeff and Cory of Ridgetown. Beloved brother of Erma Haskell,Doris Butler and step brother to Lloyd Elgie. Good friend to his favourite cat Smokey. Roy was a special “Po” to Tanner, Kaitlyn and Carson. Roy will also be missed by his brother-in-law Gordon Clauws, sisters-in-law Marilyn Clauws, Audrey Whitson and Grace McNeil and many friends, family and neighbours. Predeceased by his wife Susie Pepper (nee Clauws) (1994) and his sisters Betty Burse (2005), Elizabeth Pratt (2007) and infant brother James Pepper. Uncle to the late Andrew Balasin (1993) and Robert Balasin (2008). Roy will be most remembered for his enthusiastic Harley Owner’s Group (HOG) membership and his extensive travels all over North America on his Harley. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Sunday from 7:00-9:00 p.m and on Monday from 1:00 – 4:30 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 7th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. led by Roy’s niece Pastor Tracey Whitson-Bahro. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family have asked that donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. As well, they would ask for you to “pay it forward” – a smile, kind gesture or hug to best exemplify Roy’s quiet humour and caring nature.
