Obituary of James Osborne

OSBORNE: James H. (Jim). A resident of Howard Township, James (Jim) Osborne passed away at the Village, Ridgetown on Friday, October 10, 2008 at the age of 84. Born in Orford Township, son of the late John and Ella (Meahen) Osborne. Beloved husband of Donna (West) Osborne for 61 years. Dear father of Brenda Rankin and her husband John of Dover Centre. Grandfather of Robert Rankin and his wife Lisa of Chatham, and Jon Anne Rankin of Dover Centre. Brother of the late Marguerite Elliott (1984), Norma Fisher (2001), and Betty Hunter (2007). Jim farmed all of his life in Howard Township. He was a Veteran of WWII and served overseas with the Canadian Army. He was a 50-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #243, Ridgetown. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Monday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. James E. Brown of Zion United Church officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
