COPELAND: James ‘Randy’ Randolf, A resident of Chatham and formerly of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, died suddenly on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at the London Health Sciences Centre, University Campus, at the age of 79. Born in New Waterford, NS to the late Mr. and Mrs. John & Mary (Hannon) Copeland. Beloved husband of Donna (McFadden-Ellis) Copeland and the late Helen (Cartier) Copeland (1991). Predeceased by son Scott Copeland (2000). Loving grandfather of Shawn Copeland and Drew Copeland and their mother Dawn & Terry Tomlinson all of Tillsonburg. Randy will be missed by his step-children Henry & Sara, Clinton, Kathleen, Kevin &Chantelle, and Teresa & Scott, and remembered by step-grandchildren Rachelle & Brandon, Tiffany, Jamee, Mackenzee, Joshua, Breeze, Katie, Dustin, Jessica, Nicholas, and Rob. Dear brother of Roxie Moore of Chatham, and Terry & Yvette Copeland of Chatham. Predeceased by brother Billy Copeland and sister Shirley Robert. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Randy was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 28 and served in Germany with the Royal Canadian Army during the Korean War. He retired from International Harvester after 35 years and then drove for Chatham Coach Lines for another 20 years. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 9:00-10:45 a.m. The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 28 will conduct a memorial service for their comrade at 10:45 a.m. Memorial Service following at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, from the Funeral Home, with Rev. Heather Scott officiating. Interment of the urn to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Randy to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
