Obituary of William Clackett

CLACKETT: William “Bill” Wayne A resident of Dover Township, Bill Clackett passed into our loving Father’s arms on October 24, 2008 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance after a courageous two year battle with bladder cancer. Bill was born in Windsor, 72 years ago on September 16, 1936, son of the late Garnet (1955) & Wilhelmina (Monk) Clackett (1988). His smile, companionship, and love will be truly missed by his wife of 51 years, Ruth (Hamil) Clackett; son Wayne Clackett, his wife Dawn, and their children Melissa, Crystal, Sarah, and Brandon, of Coldstream; son Paul Clackett, the late Jo-Ellen (2007), and their daughter Katelyne, of Chatham. Dear son-in-law of Elsie Hamil of Chatham, and the late Ervin Hamil (1999), and brother-in-law of Helen Massecar, and her late husband Rick (2001). Cherished uncle of David Shaw, his wife Cheryl, and their daughters Natasha and Shae-lynn; Carol Vanderhaeghe, her husband Brian, and their children Ashley and Bryce. Bill retired from Union Gas Limited as Supervisor, New Construction, with over 40 years of service. For many years he was a member of Dover Rod & Gun Club, Royal Canadian Legion Card Players, Chatham Hi Neighbour Square Dance Club, Wallaceburg Baldoon Squares Dance Club, Petrolia Shiloh Buckles & Bows Square Dance Club, and Union Gas Golden Genies. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at Gregory Drive Alliance Church, 255 Gregory Drive West, on Tuesday October 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bob Beasley officiating. Interment Owen Cemetery, Dover Township.
