Obituary of Donald Sheppy Rose

ROSE: Donald Sheppy, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 with his family near. Don was born to Alvin and Beulah Sheppy Rose on Rose Beach Line where he lived on the family farm all his life. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife and best friend Barbara (Young) Rose. Don was so very proud of his children Kathryn and Mark Hansen, Karen Dilliott and Neil and Robin Rose. Devoted and loving Papa to Taylor and Alexandra Dilliott, Jared, Garnet, Jacob and Grace Hansen and Riley and Owen Rose. Beloved brother of Norma O’Neill Getchell, Ridgetown. Brother-in-law of Robert and Deanna Young, Charing Cross. Also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Don was a life long member of New Scotland United Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Elder, Steward and Trustee. He was a proud member of Ridgetown Rotary Club where he served as a Director and President. Don had a love of farming, woodworking and a zest for life with a strong faith. He will be remembered for his smiles and gentle loving way. Friends and family will be received at McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. E., on Friday, November 21, 2008 from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Cremation is to follow with a Memorial Service to be held at New Scotland United Church On Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Wanda Burse officiating. Interment to follow at Morpeth Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance MRI Fund or New Scotland United Church.
