PACKHAM: George William (Bill). A resident of Dover Township, William (Bill) Packham passed away suddenly on Monday, December 8, 2008 at the age of 56. Born in Chatham on November 20, 1952, son of Dr. John and Anne Packham of Chatham and the late Barbara (Grainger) Packham (1995). Beloved husband of Melanie (Roberts) Packham. Dear father of Corrine Doolittle and her husband Russell of Blenheim, Rebecca Armstrong and her husband Joseph of Chatham, and Kelsey Packham, at home. Grandfather of Martin Packham, Samantha Doolittle, Cassandra Doolittle, Brayden Doolittle, Bradley Armstrong, and Reid Armstrong. Brother of Caroline MacPhail and her husband Marek Piatkowski of Toronto, and Diane Bradley and her husband Curtis of Pain Court. Son-in-law of Noelle Roberts of Dover Township.. Brother-in-law of Gerald and Arlene Lozon & family of Dover Township, Wanda Roberts of Chatham, Star Roberts of Dover Township, and many nieces and nephews. Bill retired in January 2008 as Sr. Constable after 29 years of service with the Chatham-Kent Police Service. He was also the owner/operator of Dover Port-A-John, as well as a Cub Scout Leader for many years, a member of the Dover Rod & Gun Club, and the Imperial Club, Chatham. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Immaculée Conception Church, Pain Court on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Philippe Cemetery, Grande Pointe.
