Obituary of Joseph Demers

Demers: Joseph, a resident of Chatham. Joseph Demers died Friday December 26, 2008 at Victoria Hospital, London at the age of 76. Born in Windsor, Ontario son of the late Joseph Hector & Oviline (Emery) Demers. Beloved husband of Alice M. (Dillon) Demers. Dear father of Jim & Karen Demers, Windsor; and Janice & Brian Rivard, Meaford. Step-father of Jamie Blondeel & Shannon Shaw, Windsor; Timothy & Susan Blondeel, Tilbury; Rene Blondeel & Jeff Dauphin, Chatham and Gregory Blondeel, Chatham. Grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Brother of Rose & Norm Charron, Chatham; Yvonne & Gord Carroll, Port Lambton and the late Jeanne Grant (1977). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Demers played steel guitar for the Melody Ramblers for 25 years. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Tuesday December 30, 2008 from 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Cremation to follow with interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery at a later date.
